Supporting clients to find clarity through professional therapy

Daily life may present certain challenges and stress to us all. You are not alone in this. I offer a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space to explore thoughts and emotions, develop healthier strategies, and work towards a more relaxed and fulfilling life. Whether it is stress, anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationship difficulties, or simply seeking personal growth, therapy can be beneficial. Through the use of evidence-based approaches customised to your unique needs, I ensure compassionate care every step of the way.

What Is Therapy?

Therapy, frequently known as psychotherapy or counselling, is a collaborative process between you and a trained therapist. Through guided conversations using proven therapeutic techniques, some of the benefits are:

  • Understanding and addressing emotional or psychological challenges
  • Resolving negative thought patterns or behaviors
  • Developing tools to manage stress, anxiety, and other mental health concerns
  • Improving communication, relationships, and self-awareness
  • Fostering resilience and personal growth
  • A supportive, confidential and judgement-free space and time

Integrative Approach

Recent research suggests that an integrative therapeutic approach is the future of effectual therapy. By combining a variety of therapeutic theories and techniques, this approach allows for a more personalised and flexible treatment plan. Rather than relying solely on one method (such as CBT), therapists using an integrative approach draw from multiple tools and strategies to personalise treatment to the client’s needs, preferences and goals. This method is progressive, holistic, and highly adaptable, prioritising the client’s uniqueness to enhance its effectiveness. It is designed to equip you, the client, with the insights and skills necessary for lasting, meaningful change.

Approaches used:

As an integrative psychotherapist myself, I customize my approach to fit your unique personality, needs, and goals. Some of the therapeutic approaches I specialize in, but are not limited to, include the following:

Humanistic Therapy (Person-Centered Therapy)

Focuses on personal growth, self-acceptance, awareness and confidence. This approach is client-led.

Method: Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and the therapeutic relationship. Collaboratively, we work on goals through a supportive environment to explore self and potentials.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Focuses on exploring unconscious patterns and early life experiences. This benefits emotional challenges that are currently presented as well as trauma.

Method: Delving into the unconscious mind to understand how childhood and past experiences shape current behavior and emotions. It often involves exploring childhood, dreams, and recurring life patterns.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Focuses on identifying and replacing negative thought patterns and behaviors.

Method: An increase of awareness and recognition of adverse thoughts and behaviours. They are then challenged and displaced with healthier alternatives. CBT is typically short-term and goal-oriented.

Mindfulness (Somatic approach)

Focuses on being present and cognizant, and can alleviate stress and anxiety. Additionally, it enhances mind-body awareness and connection, and may be more spiritual in its approach.

Method: Incorporates mindfulness practices, such as meditation, relaxation and deep breathing, to help clients become more aware of their thoughts and feelings without judgment. This promotes emotional balance and stress reduction.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Focuses on emotional regulation and improving interpersonal skills. It is the proven approach of Borderline Personality Disorder, self-harm, and mood disorders.

Method: Combines elements of CBT with mindfulness and acceptance strategies. It teaches skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and effective communication.

Family and Couples Therapy

Focuses on improving communication and relationships, within couples, parents, and families to overcome conflict.

Method: It involves multiple family members or couples to resolve conflicts.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

Focuses on building solutions, instead of focusing on problems. It is short-term therapy and goal-oriented.

Method: It encourages clients to envision their preferred future and identify the steps to achieve it.

These therapeutic approaches are popular due to their effectiveness in addressing a wide range of mental health issues and their adaptability to a range of clients’ needs.
