Your Rights as a Client

My goal is your growth, even if that means you grow out of working with me. Therapy is your time and your investment. You have the right to:

  1. Ask questions. You can always ask about training, methods, or why a particular approach is being suggested.
  2. Give feedback. If a session didn't feel helpful, or you felt misunderstood, you're encouraged to say so. Good feedback is welcomed, not taken personally.
  3. Change therapists. If you realise after a few sessions that the fit isn't right, you're allowed to leave. You can simply say, "I appreciate your time, but I don't think this is the right fit for me right now." I'll happily help provide a referral to someone else if you'd like.

See also what to expect in your first session and the trusted resources directory if a different kind of support is a better fit right now.

If you are in immediate danger or distress, please contactSamaritans (116 123) or Text About It (text HELLO to 50808). You are not alone.
